    Posted: May 20 2010 at 10:17am
So I was out in clear creek and hit a nasty tree that was floating just under the water.  Luckilly it didn't even leave a scratch on the boat iteslf.  It did tear my prop to shredes.  My 4 blade prop now has 2 1/2 blades.  I have friends coming in town in a week to ride and need to get this fixed.  Does anybody have suggestions of places around houston to find a good deal at? I live on the south side.

Since I am buying a new prop if anyone has any sugestions on things they have done please let me know.  I have an 08 mooba lsv w/ the current prop being 14.25x14

Thanks for the help

I hit a sandbar on Lake Houston (surprise) and bent my prop up pretty bad last year. I went to Mike Hood's - right near Hobby Airport. He had a used prop for my 07 Outback that was in perfect shape that he sold me for $200 then he fixed mine for $100... It only took three days. You might want to give him a call, they did a great job.

I go to Hoods yearly and get it back in 3-4days.  Its close to you.

I have a prop you can borrow if you don't get it done or replaced in time!  The prop shaft size?

if you are replacing - they might have a prop in stock.  I would go with the stock oe replacement.
I'm never lost - I always know where I am NOT!

Thanks for the help.  Do you know if they repair props that are missing an entire blade??

Also any suggstions on trying a different pitch or size?  If I am buying a new one might as well get a good one.

I dont think they can repair props that are missing a blade.  I recommend Baumanns they rock and have good prices. They beat Hoods for sure.

Glad to hear the boat did not get tweaked.

Sounds like you've got 1.5:1 gear, so you can also go to 13.5x17.5
Acme
275 13.5 L 17.5 4b .080 C 1 1/8" 1.5

or OJ

454 – 13.7 X 17.5 LC .110 1 1/8” 1.5:1

466 – 14.25 X 14 LC .090 1 1/8” 1.5:1 (probably what you have now)

I just got the new fusion prop from oj. It's 14.25 x 14.5. It is now the standard on supras. Same holeshot with a weighted boat as the 14.25 x 14 but at a little lower rpms so fuel consumption is better ( as per oj and skiers choice testing). So far I like it. I found the best price by ordering directly from oj. If you need a prop to get you by for a while I have a 13.7x17.5 for sale - $250 (or you can borrow it for free).
